Craig Beck Racing Ltd specialises in building and developing high-performance historic race and rally engines for Lotus, Ford and BMW. Combining decades of hands-on experience, technical expertise and a passion for engineering excellence, we believe power should never come at the expense of reliability. Our commitment to quality ensures every engine is built to deliver outstanding performance, durability and drivability, from clubman racing to Classic Formula 3.

Craig’s passion for engine building began at just 16, following completion of his college course in motor engineering. He soon joined a local race team full-time, before being mentored by George Wadsworth Racing Fabrications. Here, Craig developed his skills in building and developing competition engines, including Lotus Twin Cam and Ford BDG units. He also gained valuable international experience travelling across Europe with Ian Jones and his team, maintaining 2-litre sports cars and Can-Am machinery.

Established in November 2007, Craig Beck Racing initially focused on modern engine platforms, including Duratec, K-Series and Zetec. However, growing demand and word-of-mouth recommendations soon brought the business back to its historic racing roots, specialising in Lotus Twin Cam, Ford BDG and X-flow engines. Craig’s enthusiasm for continuous development also led to extensive work on BMW M10 engines.

Today, we offer a comprehensive range of engine-building services, including new Lotus, Ford BDA/BDG and BMW engines, alongside our own carefully developed performance components, such as crankshafts and camshafts. Each component is designed to enhance reliability, increase power and improve overall engine performance.

Our fully equipped workshop continues to evolve, with ongoing investment in advanced machining equipment and facilities. By carrying out much of the work in-house, we maintain quality control, efficiency and consistency throughout the build process.
